Description:

The members (species) of this genus are found in the Nearctic ecozone and the Neotropic ecozone. A neotropical hairstreak genus, most of which feature bright green ventral wing surfaces. They never rest with their wings open, in order to keep its green camouflage. The males show a territorial behavior. Lycaenidae Family

Habitat:

The wide range of food plants means that this butterfly is able to use a wide range of habitats including chalk downland, heathland, moorland and clearings in woodland It is a present at an elevation of about 0-2,300 metres.
