Southern Brown Tree Frog

Litoria ewingi

Description:

A small greyish-brown frog, about 15mm long and distinctly grey sides and small flecks of green. a pale patch on the head extends from the inner margins of each eye down narrowing down towards the snout. The frog had a pale vocal sac (the underside of lower jaw) suggesting that this is male. Small pads seen on toes.

Habitat:

marshy areas, flooded wetlands and sometimes suburban gardens. fairly widespread in southern parts of Victoria, parts of South Australia and southern New South Wales.

Thanks Hemma and Shanna. I loved this cutie - I almost screamed with excitement at finding this little guy, after all the moths and insects !! I'll move the second pic over; I agree it is the better one.
