Gum Leaf Katydid

Torbia viridissima

Description:

A katydid about 50mm long with wings that mimic eucalyptus leaves with perfect venation.

Habitat:

eucalyptus trees

Notes:

This katydid flew past me and landed on paved ground. There were gum trees around and unfortunately, I did not spot the katydid on a tree. It seemed to be attracted to bright lights.
