Eye-patterned Gum Hopper Nymph

Platybrachys vidua

Description:

10mm highly camouflaged leaf hopper style of bug with immense white plumes standing vertically longer then the creature's body

Habitat:

on the bark of a tree in reconstituted woodlands by a school

Notes:

As I stood there struggling to see what had disturbed some ants this creature marched around from behind the branch. It looked like a tiny Chinese New Year's Procession. I am really stressed about having a less than average camera although cleaning the lens may have made these images clearer. I had to use this spotting. This may be the only specimen of this I ever close to with a camera
