unidentified crab

Description:

Small brownish marine crab about 4 cm wide by 2 cm front to back including yellow-brown appendages.

Habitat:

Insular tropical nearshore marine ecosystem.

Notes:

Spotted on a plastic float which was washed up on the beach at Kahana Bay. The crab was captured. It resisted efforted to place it on the sand for imaging and decided to cling onto my wrist. It was imaged in situ, eventually pried loose and returned to the ocean.
