Spotting

Description:

A small scale insect (diameter around 5mm), with a very distinctive look. Last photo shows an individual parasitised by what seems to be a wasp larva.

Habitat:

A preserved area within Atlantic Forest.

Notes:

After three years, I am still looking for an ID for this gorgeous insect. Even specialists aren't sure about it. I was requested to collect them for research, but I don't like the idea of killing critters to study them...
