True Bug

Description:

This beetle is about 3/8" long. I only got this shot off before it flew away. Spotted on an Ixora leaf.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 5 months into the 6 month rainy season.

Larry, great picture! I believe this is a True Bug of some sort though (Order Hemiptera) and not a beetle, judging by the shape of the body and antennae. Too bad it escaped without any more glamour shots!
