Wild Potato-vine

Ipomoea pandurata

Description:

5-lobed cup like flower, with purple center approximately 7.5 cm round. Heart shaped leaves are pointed on the ends, growing on a long vine.

Habitat:

Spotted in a dry clay ditch. This ditch was excavated about a year ago, all plant life was cleared from the area for supposed improved water management (it was unsuccessful).

Notes:

Amazing what one can find when they look in even the most seemingly desolate places.
