Trashline Orb Weaver

Cyclosa

Description:

Two initial shots of a spider. These were taken mostly for its web to put into a mission. The spider is located in a dark place and the wind was blowing pretty hard today. It was difficult to get good shots of him. I hope to have better photos tomorrow. Photos 3 through 6 are the ones I took today, the second day, 25 February 2014. These are much better as the wind was not blowing. In the third photo he is going to get another piece of trash, which he hauled back to the rest of his trash.

Habitat:

In a garden with his web stretched between two plants.

Wild Things, thanks for your help. I tickled him several times with a small piece of grass to get him to move off the piece of trash he was hanging onto. He would move away for a few seconds and then go right back to the trash. I will try to get better pictures of him in the morning if the wind is not blowing.
