Little Egret

Description:

Little Egrets is a common resident bird all around Hong Kong. They are often spotted along Great Egrets (Ardea alba) and Grey Herons (Ardea cinerea). This particular one is spotted alone in Tai O. It was drying itself after a dive for fish.

Habitat:

Near any major waterbody with fish in it.

This appears to be a Little Egret as the legs are black and not greenish yellow which would have pointed to the otherwise very similar Chinese Egret. See this link for more info on the differences http://www.birdforum.net/opus/Chinese_Eg...
