Cassida circumdata
Chrysomelidae; Cassidinae; Cassida circumdata Herbst, 1799. This beautiful iridescent beetle has many variations of colouring and pattern. Sometimes they are so elaborate that I find myself checking in case I have taken a photo of a subspecies
I spotted this Tortoise Beetle on roadside foliage up on a hilly area at an altitude of about 150 to 200 ft. above sea level. This is very little human presence and insect life is abundant.
