Tufted Foxtail Lichen

Nodobryoria abbreviata

Description:

A fairly rare lichen it's only the second time I've spotted it. A reddish brown stringy appearance and always growing with other lichens. Easily confused with Kaernefeltia californica, which I've also posted before, but is much darker.

Habitat:

Spotted on a vine maple limb in the Cascade foothills.
