Pycnonotus atriceps
A black-headed bulbul seen feeding on the fruits of black currant tree (Antidesma ghaesembilla). A pair of these birds were also seen building their nest in another tree in an alternating manner. When the other bird comes with the nesting material clipped in its beak, the one in the nest flies right back to get more nesting material. It takes about three minutes for the bird to return.
It is found feeding on fruits of black currant tree. A pair of these birds is seen nesting in a tree called locally as bunot-bunot (Melochia umbellata).
These birds visit the site to feed on black currant tree. They nest about two meters from the ground. Their nest is made mainly of dried sticks arranged in a circular fashion on small branches of Melochia umbellata within an intricate network of hanging vines, leaves, and twigs.
