Nebulosa aliena
A smallish colourful day-flying moth. The photo is a better description than any words I can think of.
A small patch of primary rainforest below our lodge at an altitude of around 1350 m.
Another in the series of day-flying moth from this area which I hope get help with identifying.
Oops! I seem not to have updated that ID on my computer.
Thanks for the nomination.
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
Oh yes, - just a bit higher up the road.
I am delighted if I can help at all.
Thanks Dominik.
As well as many great butterflies I also saw many great day-flying moths on this trip. Sadly the photo of this one is not sharp.
Notodontidae, Dioptinae, Nebulosa aliena. Nice one! Note the same location in the link :-)
Thanks again for your valuable info about Wild Sumaco!
