Banana Stalk Fly

Telostylinus sp.

Description:

Neriidae; Stelostylinus sp. These flies often appear in our garden when there is a rotten or over-ripe fruit. The two shown here have been on an over-ripe Papaya for a few days. I don't know if they are a male and a female or both of the same gender

Habitat:

These Banana Stalk Flies were spotted in our front garden on a Papaya which had become over-ripe.
