Description:

Deeply red feathers: pigmented from mainly shrimp diet; long necks (compensate long legs to eat from water, tucks away on back to sleep/rest); movement in flocks no sighting of dominant male in community.

Habitat:

Zoo habitat of sandy beaches/marshes with a medium pond; other birds share said marsh

Notes:

Short tempered birds (jousting of heads) ; makes a rather honking noise not unlike a goose's
