Willis's Antbird

Cercomacra laeta

Description:

This cryptic endemic species previously had been overlooked and thought to be a Dusky Antbird. Until North of Manaus it was noted that the species had two distinctly different voices leading to it being split in 1997 and named Willis's Antbird (Cercomacra laeta). The English name honours E. O. Willis, famous for his legendary field work on antbirds in Brazil and Central America.
