Regulus calendula
Very small olive gray bird with white wingbar over black. White eyering with more in front and back of the eye. Thin short dark bill and a red patch on crown that is hidden most of the time. Raises usually when territorial and in breeding.
I see them mostly in oaks but can be found in some bushes and other species of trees.

Thank you. I usually hear their chatter before I see them. Most come pretty close but are quick little birds.
