Net-casting Spider

Deinopis ravida

Notes:

This spider is different to the examples recorded at my last property and we identified them as Deinopis subrufa. The abdomen is slightly more cylindrical and less smooth. It is a surprise to see a net-casting spider in a part of a woodland that is not well-watered and that may also be a difference between species. In the area we were watching before the Deinopus did not appear until the plants were regularly watered
