Description:

This bright little flower is part of the buttercup family (Ranunculaceae) it grows to around 5-8cm (2-3in) and is bright yellow surrounding by a crown of green leaves, However this plant is poisonous if consumed.

Habitat:

Growing in patches by the side of a country lane in derbyshire. There are several different subspecies native to Europe, East Asia and Japan.
