Fungus

Description:

This fungus grew slowly during the rainy season. Here, they each measure nearly three inches across. They reached a maximum size of just over 4" wide by the time the dry season set in. They are growing on a fencing post.

Habitat:

Tropical dry forest in NW Costa Rica 5 months into the 6 month rainy season.

Notes:

These were taken at night. I was continually surprised by their pink color.
