That's good to know as he was found at the camp I work at. :-)
Great spotting. One of my favorite Nerodia to work with. The juveniles I've handled have been some of the more docile snakes found in Nerodia. The adults have been fairly tame as well in comparison to Yellow-bellied, Blotched, and Broad-bandeds we have in this area.
