Our 5th endemic of the week, this one shared space with the Squirrel but was reluctant to be photographed and kept diving down under the platform, only to reappear the other side.

Possibly, it was picking scraps dropped by humans while eating. This area is the start and finishing point for the mountain climbers and a lot of them pause to eat here, either on the way up or down.
Interestingly, I saw another one by a restaurant much lower down doing the same thing, rather like starlings and sparrows do.
I think they are generally ground feeders and we were effectively on a first floor balcony overlooking it and it did on occasions come up to the balcony also.
You got good angles on this Malcolm. Was it very focussed on feeding?
