Collared Araçari

Pteroglossus torquatus

Description:

A medium sized toucan, the collared aracari is brightly marked and has a large bill. The adult is typically 39–41 cm (15–16 in) long and weighs 190-275 grams (6.7-9.7 oz.

Habitat:

The Collared Aracari is common in Caribbean lowland and premontane forest. These ones were feeding at bunches of bananas that were put out by the lodge each day to attract the birds.
