Golden Tail Spiny Ant

Polyrhachis Illaudata

Description:

An peculiar ant with golden yellow and black stripes across it's abdomen. The yellow parts are covered in hair.

Habitat:

Singapore American School rainforest, near the edge of the tail where there was a cluster of leaves. Also seen on the avium plant.

Notes:

I wonder if it is warning other animals that it's dangerous to eat with it's stripes. (mimicry?)
