Whistling Kite

Haliastur sphenurus

Notes:

The Whistling Kite is a medium-sized diurnal raptor. This one was calling loudly from its perch by the Mooloolah River before it flew off. The fifth shot was taken about 20 minutes earlier and about a kilometre down the river - I'm not sure whether the two birds are the same specimen or different ones. (The first one flew off in the direction we were paddling, so it could have been the same!)
