Crab spiders

Family Thomisiade

Description:

Something that is not often seen: two crab spiders mating. The male grabs the female's abdomen from below, trying to fertilize her with his pedipalps. The female became a bit upset when I started to photograph them, and started walking around. That made the male's job quite dificult, and he had to struggle to get into position.
