Beautiful butterfly, large 6-8cm wings, golden yellow body and inner wings, grading out to orange and red and finally a dark brown. Amazing colours, very speedy creature... this is the only photo managed to get of him sitting still.
Seen in forest edge foliage near a lake.
Wow... I am blown away... looking looking looking to find out what this is... and I find it is the green veined Charaxes.. ... a butterfly that is so beautiful with wings closed... I had no idea it was so stunning with wings open.. my goodness.
