European Starling

Sturnus vulgaris

Description:

Usually I see flocks of these birds with other black birds squawking and causing a ruckus in the tree tops or on the ground. They are an aggressive bird that I often shew away, but since it was sleeting and this guy was by himself I let him eat at my feeder. They are stocky, short tailed, shiny, spotted with a distinct yellow bill.

Habitat:

urban backyard
