Chukar

Alectoris chukar

Description:

They have black and white bars on the flanks and a black band running from the forehead across the eye and running down the head to form a necklace that encloses a white throat.

Habitat:

Native to Eurasia near the equator, but they have been introduced to other parts of the world for hunting. I'm not sure if these were escapees or if they have established themselves as a feral population, but they were just foraging along the side of the road.
