White-breasted Nuthatch

Sitta carolinensis

Description:

Small bird with black, gray, and white markings.

Habitat:

Saw this Nuthatch in my backyard in Middleway, WV. My yard is 3 1/2 acres and has a small pond and wooded area on the back half of the lot - many birds make their home in the trees on my property.

Thanks for the update Laura.

Hi Laura, and a belated welcome to Project Noah. You have a fine collection but we really would like you to read our FAQs http://www.projectnoah.org/faq regarding what to put in the various fields as we do not want to see copies of what had already been written elsewhere, that is what the reference links are for. In particular, in the habitat field should state the actual habitat where you made the spotting, not where the text books say you should find it. This is so thst we can track any habitat changes which take place due to human interference or natural disasters.
