Collared Lory

Phigys solitarius

Description:

The adult collared lory is about 8 inches in length and has a bright red breast, throat, and cheeks. The crown of the head is a dark blue-purple color and its wings, back, tail, and nape of the neck are lime green. The lower part of the abdomen is the same blue-purple color as the crown. The feet are a pink-orange color and the beak is yellow-orange.

Habitat:

The collared lory is endemic to the islands of Fiji. It can be found in tropical or subtropical forests. It eats fruit, seeds, blossoms, and nectar
