Cypressvine Morning Glory

Ipomoea quamoclit

Habitat:

Cypress-vine is native to Mexico and tropical America but has escaped cultivation and is now established throughout much of the eastern United States from Florida and Texas north to at least Kansas and Ohio. It seems still to be expanding its range. Cypress-vine normally occurs in cultivated fields, roadsides and disturbed areas.

Notes:

Growing in the Pine rocklands exhibit. Maybe accidentally.

Thank you. This is at a botanical garden in an area were they recreated a small patch of the native south Florida Pine Rocklands. So I'm sure the staff will deal with it. But, I'll check next time I go and maybe report it to someone.

This is really invasive....it is also self-seeding and it grows very fast smothering everything it climbs! I have it at home...love its leaves.
