Heriaeus hirtus
A white Hairy crab spider (Heriaeus hirtus) spotted on a parietaria judaica plant, in a prairie in Iolkos, Volos city, Greece. Heriaeus hirtus, is a member of the Crab Spiders (Family Thomisidae), and the pictured one is probably an adult female. These spiders hide among the leaves of the plant they host and then they use their powerful front legs to grab and hold on to prey, usually leaf hoppers, caterpillars or different kinds of insects.

Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
