They have a light gray body, black chest, and red head and neck. The bill is longer than most other ducks, and the eye is red.
Found in North America, the park is in a lightly wooded area. There was a pair sleeping when I walked up, the male lifted his head to see what was making noise, then went back to sleep in the last photo.
