Gekko gecko
Large forest gecko, with a SVL of 18.5cm and nearly that again for the tail. Characterized by orange spots on a blue/grey background. Very vocal and often heard first rather than seen.
Naturally occurs in trees but has adapted well to human habitation so often seen around buildings up in the roof etc. at night. Very wide ranging species from Bangladesh, through India, Burma, throughout SE Asia and across into Philippines and Indonesia. This one seen in the gardens surrounding a local ecolodge in Bali. Sorry but I cant find an exact location on the map but know its in Nusa Dua.
This species is so vocal that its Latin name and some local names are derived from the sounds it makes. Ref: EcologyAsia.

Thank you Paul. They are characters! The ones I had shouted at each other all night, at least that's how it seemed. Got to love those orange spots though :)
Great shot , I had one on my balcony in Langkawi ,it kept eating all the moths ,that I was trying to photograph.
Hi Polilla, yes there was a gang of them and I think they took it in turns! ;) Noisy critters!
