Chironomus sp.

Description:

A green non-biting midge about 14mm long overall. Some interesting markings near the head might help ID. Feathery (comb) antennae but not as dramatic as some other species. ♂?

Habitat:

Resting on Callistemon in a nature reserve containing a large persistent creek.
