Pogona vitticeps
The Bearded Dragon is the lizard family of Agamidae along with eight other species. Males can grow to be 60 cm long and females up to 54 cm. They have broad triangle heads and flat bodies with spiny scales all over their bodies. These scales are used to scare off predators. They can also change colors like bright yellow and dark orange during rival battles between others in the species of the same gender. Another form of defense this lizard has is venom, it is produced in mild venom glands. These creatures usually get along with their species but avoid any other animal. With this information we can infer their are no symbiotic relationships shared with the Bearded Dragon. But they do share the same habitat as Shingle Back Lizards and Blue Tongue Skinks, Both are from Australia. Bearded Dragon lives in the arid woodlands and deserts of Australia. In this dry region of Australia, there are insects and small animals for the bearded dragon to eat. Bearded dragons also eat leaves and other vegetation that can be found among the rocks, trees, and shrubs. Adaptations of this reptile include: Color, the bearded dragon blends in with its arid environment, not easily seen by predators. Another one is the ability to scare away predators making themselves look bigger than they really are, they do this by filling their bodies with air. Finally common predators include other large lizards, dingoes, and any birds of prey.
