Green Ibis/Coro-Coro

Mesembrinibis cayennensis

Description:

Like other ibises, it predates fish, frogs and other water creatures, as well as insects. it is most active and vocal at dusk, with a loud rolling "co-co-co-co-corru-corru" call.

Habitat:

Lowlands of Costa Rica to the Argentina and Brazil. Occurs in wooded swamps and other wet forest habitats. Its nest consists of a platform of twigs placed in a tree

Notes:

I found these four specimens in a tree on the edge of an urban river in my town. Probably it two couples of birds, but not sure.
