Western Pond Turtle

Actinemys marmorata

Notes:

This awesome looking turtle was spotted by Land Trust of Napa's biologist Mike Palladini as we almost ran him over driving on some unpaved mountain roads. He was far away from water but Mike figured he's trying to get to the stream because he was going in the right direction. So we placed him out of harm's way closer to the stream about 20 ft from where we found him. I think he's a Pacific Pond Turtle but I can't be sure.
