Brown Anole

Anolis sagrei

Description:

Brown lizard with lighter-colored speckling, about four inches long,

Habitat:

Suburban neighborhood on insular tropical upland plateau.

Notes:

Spotted in my back yard. I wanted to acquire images of its inflated red and orange dewlap, so I sat across the yard with a zoomed-in hand held digital point-and-shoot camera and waited. I got the images I wanted, but because of my choices of camera and of distance, the image quality is poor. The second of the uploaded images shows the size of the original images. The other two images were enlarged and cropped, resulting in obvious pixelation. Sometimes classified as Norops sagrei. Non-native, sometimes classified as invasive.
