Description:

Satureja is a hardy plant with very developed roots. The stem is up to 40 cm tall, mostly bushy branched. The leaves are narrow, dull and the whole edge. The flowers are on short stalks, calyx is bell, green or purple, floral wreath is violet, pink or white, fine flaky. Stamens barely crossing the daisy-chain. The plant spreads around a strong and pleasant aroma. Savory has a strong aromatic flavor, similar to marjoram. Flowering period is from July to September and flower twice in one season.

Habitat:

Grows freely in the wild in rocky and sandy slopes in the eastern Mediterranean.
