Anthemis arvensis

Description:

It is a species of the genus Anthemis and in the Asteraceae family. This plant is used like an ornamental plant. It is a ANNUAL growing to 0.4 m by 0.3 m. It is in flower from Jun - Jul, and the seeds ripen from Jul - Aug. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by flies, beetles, self. The plant is self-fertile.

Habitat:

Native to Palearctic (Europe, Macaronesia, Northern Africa, Western Asia and Caucasus).

Notes:

Other names: mayweed, scentless chamomile, field chamomile, jarmen, bijela rada. This species is considered to be one of the best febrifuge species indigenous to France. The flowers and leaves are used.
