Distichous Leafed Dendrobium

Dendrobium distichum

Description:

epiphytic orchid, small flower, less than 1cm

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

I found this orchid lying on the ground in Tangkoko Batuangus National Park. The branch it was growing on had broken off from a tree. This is one great way to see epiphytic orchids. I always check fallen branches and have spotted more than one orchid this way. It is D. section aporum, pretty sure about the species.
