Laccaria fraterna
A glossy (almost waxy) uniformly brown mushroom with caps about 25 mm wide. Centres were depressed and margins slightly frilly with pale edges. The stipe looked flattened and hollow but was not delicate. Gills were the same colour as the cap but quite open and waxy.
Spotted growing among damp leaves and twigs - damp forest gully. Distribution: ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:catalogueoflife.org:taxon:d71284f6-2dc5-11e0-98c6-2ce70255a436:col20120124

Antonio, apparently this species is L.fraterna here in Australia. Thanks again for the ID.
Thanks Antonio. I will check if the species is found here in Oz.
