Kodiak Brown Bear

Ursus arctos middendorffi

Description:

Spotting #5000! Two skinny bears fattening up after a long winter. The salmon had not started running yet so they were just browsing on plants. They look very thin in comparison to the end of summer after eating lots of salmon. This is the blondest bear I have ever seen so far.

Habitat:

Tidal mudflats outside of town. This is a common visiting spot for bears.
