Description:

•They are scavengers and feed almost exclusively on carrion, but also feed on vegetation, pumpkins, coconuts and invertebrates. •They are gregarious and roost in large comunity groups, but forage independently during the day. •They have a high ability to detect odors.

Habitat:

Open and semi-open areas, subtropical forests, open country, shrublands, deserts, foothills, pastures, grasslands, wetlands -I saw this vulture in Itaipava (RJ, Brazil)
