California Newt

Taricha torosa torosa

Description:

Dark grey on back and orange under. Long tail and 4 toes on each leg. Eyes have a yellow patch on top of pupil and smaller faint yellow pathc on the bottom.

Habitat:

Moist areas like woodlands with water nearby. This was spotted near the mid point of mountain

Notes:

Spotted crossing a paved road. I helped it to the other side. Not far we found one that didn't make it across the road.
