Dichostereum rhodosporum
A patch of snow-white leathery shelf fungus with irregular margins, growing with the exposed fertile surface showing tiny droplets of moisture. The fungus was perhaps a millimeter thick and adhering to the surface of the rough bark.
Spotted in a hollow of a decaying tree stump- eucalyptus tree in a nature reserve. Distribution: http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:c...
Moisture droplets were like water no viscidity. Not sure why this species is called "rhodosporum", when the spore print is white !?
