Spectacled Flying Fox

Pteropus conspicillatus

Description:

Very large bat - about 25 cm - with a furry head. Very cute.

Habitat:

Cairns in town , near coast. A whole street of about 10 trees were covered in Flying Foxes.

Notes:

A whole street of about 10 trees were covered in Flying Foxes. Parking under those trees was free :-) They were flapping their wings in the sun and were quite active even though it was the middle of the day and very very sunny and hot.
